This full day course teaches students a varied an interesting Indian Head Massage routine. Indian Head Massage evolved in the homes and barbers shops of India over many thousands of years. It is part of the Ayurvedic tradition and is widely practiced today. This massage is usually received clothed, although the shoulders can be bare if preferred. It treats not only the head but also the upper back, shoulders, arms, face and head. Indian Head massage is received seated on a comfortable chair. This course covers the history of Indian Head massage which has only been practiced in the western world for about 30 years. You will learn about the benefits of the massage so that you can market your treatment effectively. The Indian Head massage course covers the relevant anatomy, but the majority of time will be spent on the routine itself. The massage involves various strokes and techniques which are traditionally accepted. The routine also includes some more modern movements specifically designed for computer stress. This course also covers the client consultation process, aftercare and product selection, plus information on insurance, data protection and the relevant anatomy.

A massage treatment usually lasts 50 minutes and would be a one hour treatment. The routine can be shortened to offer clients a half hour treatment. It should be priced at your usual hourly massage rate which may vary between £30 and £50 per hour, depending on the area in which you practice.
